LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Illinois Junior Golf Association hosted the first of three events in the Fall Junior Elite Series, which concluded Sunday after two rounds of competitive golf. Three champions were crowned.

The Fall Junior Elite Series #1 @ Deerpath GC was played on the par 70/72 Deerpath Golf Course in Lake Forest, Ill. The Boys 12-15 Division played the course from 6,014 yards, the Boys 10-11 Division played the course from 5,226 yards, while the Girls 10-15 Division played the course from 5,226 yards.

The Illinois Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing playing opportunities for its members ages 8-18, conducting educational clinics and events, and serving as a junior golf informational clearinghouse.

In the Boys 12-15 Division, Pierce Grieve (2021) of Lake Forest, Ill., carded a two day total of 8-over-par 148 to take the top spot on the leaderboard. Grieve carded five birdies over the course of the two days.

One shot back, with a tournament total of 9-over-par 149, was runner-up Dominic Scaletta (2020) of Inverness, Ill. In third was Evan Myers (2019) of Northbrook, Ill., who carded a 10-over-par 150. Rounding out the top-5 are Samuel Mortell (2021) of Chicago, Ill., and James Gilmore (2019) of Verona, Wis., who each carded a two day total of 13-over-par 153.

In the Boys 10-11 Division, Cy Norman (2023) of Benton, Ill., carded a 7-under-par 137 tournament total to take the top spot on the leaderboard. During the second round, Normal played the back nine 5-under-par en route to his final round 5-under-par 67.

Coming in runner-up was Aleks Slesers (2023) of Libertyville, Ill., with a 14-over-par 158 tournament total. Rounding out the top-3 was Jason Gordon (2023) of Chicago, Ill., who carded a 15-over-par 159.

In the Girls 10-15 Division, Maria Perakis (2021) of Glenview, Ill., took the top spot on the leaderboard after carding a tournament total of 11-over-par 155.

Audrey Tir (2021) of Winnetka, Ill., carded a 14-over-par 158 tournament total to coming in second. Rounding out the top-3 was Soonbi Kwon (2021) of Orland Park, Ill., who finished the tournament with a 15-over-par 159 tournament total.

The next event in the Fall Junior Elite Series will be at Pheasant Run Resort on October 8-9, 2016.
