GENEVA, Ill. – The Illinois Junior Golf Association in conjunction with the Chicago District Golf Association have named a champion in the Boys Division at Mill Creek Golf Club Friday. Devin Johnson (2017) of Geneva, Ill., finished with a tournament total of 1-under-par 212 to be named champion.

The IJGA-CDGA Junior Amateur is played at par 71 Mill Creek GC in Geneva, Ill. The Boys Division plays this 54-hole stroke play event from 6,300 yard with a cut to the low 30 and ties for the final round. The Girls Division plays this as a 36-hole stroke play event from 5,260 yards.

After a bogey-free front nine, Johnson finished the final round with a 1-under-par 70. Johnson came in T5 in the 2015 IJGA-CDGA Junior Amateur.

Coming in runner-up was Matthew Wingren (2017) of Hinsdale, Ill., with a tournament total of 1-over-par 214. Tied for third, with a tournament total of 2-over-par 215, were Patrick Akaniroj (2018) of Willow Springs, Ill., Jason Folker (2017) of Lake Forest, Ill., and Tyler Isenhart (2019) of Geneva, Ill. In sixth place was William Marshall (2019) of Elburn, Ill., with a three-day total of 5-over-par 218. Tied for seventh were Garrett Tighe (2019) of Algonquin, Ill., and Payton Kim (2016) of Palatine, Ill., with a tournament total of 6-over-par 219. In ninth was Dominic Scaletta (2020) of Inverness, Ill., with a three-day total of 8-over-par 221. Rounding out the top 10, with a total of 9-over-par 222, were Timmy Crawford (2019) of Arlington Heights, Ill., Mac McClear (2019) of Hinsdale, Ill., and Danny Buetow (2018) of St. Charles, Ill.
