KENOSHA, Wis. – The Mid-American Junior Golf Tour’s Kenosha Classic came to a close on Friday after two rounds of competitive golf. In the Boys Division Matthew Tuman (2017) of Wausau, Wis., was named champion. In the Girls Division, Julia Alhemoud (2017) of Johnstown, Pa., finished atop the leaderboard. Grace Kil of Arlington Heights, Ill., finished at the top of the leaderboard in the College Division.
The MAJGT Kenosha Classic was played on the par 70 Kenosha Country Club. The Boys Division played the course from 6,439 yards, while the Girls Division played from 5,675 yards. The College Division played from 5,777 yards. The field was made up of 89 golfers from Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
In the Boys Division, Tuman carded a two-day total of 6-over-par 146 enroute to his first MAJGT victory. He carded six birdies and seven pars during the final round.
Coming in runner-up was Nicholas Nguyen (2018) of Mattoon, Ill., with a tournament total of 11-over-par 151. In a tie for third were Benjamin Resnick (2018) of Rice Lake Wis., and Jack O’Brien (2017) of Racine, Wis., each carded a two-day total of 12-over-par 152. Rounding out the top-5 was Jackson Bussell (2019) of Lincolnshire, Ill., with at tournament total of 13-over-par 153.
In the Girls Division, Alhemoud carded 11 pars en route to her 3-over-par 73 final round to finish the tournament with a total of 12-over-par 152. This was her first MAJGT victory.
Coming in runner-up was Sarah Busey (2017) of Racine, Wis., with a tournament total of 14-over-par 154. Rounding out the top 3 was Caroline Smith (2020) of Inverness, Ill., with a two-day total of 15-over-par 155.
In the College Division, Kil carded rounds of 4-over-par 74 and 9-over-par 79 for a tournament total of 13-over-par 153.
Britni Gielow of Muskegon, Mich., came in runner-up with a tournament total of 17-over-par 157. Rounding out the top 3 was Larisa Luloff of Cary, Ill., who carded a two-day total of 20-over-par 160.
Coming up next week, the MAJGT heads to Notre Dame, Ind., for the Classic at Notre Dame at The Warren Course.
