PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – PGA Junior League Golf All-Star Teams from the Mideast and Midwest regions have advanced to the PGA Junior League Golf Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, Nov. 19-21, after regional competitions last weekend (Sept. 24-25).
Team Illinois, of Cog Hill Golf & Country Club (Lemont, Ill.), captured the Midwest Regional, while Team Ohio of Mallard Creek Golf Club (Columbia Station, Ohio) won the Mideast Regional, both with 3-0 records and 27.5 points. They join Team Georgia, Team New Jersey, Team Connecticut and Team California in advancing to the championship.
Team Ohio, captained by PGA Professional Jim Wise and Chris Reed, is making its second consecutive championship trip (placed fourth in 2015). Seven of the 10 team members competed in last year’s championship.
Team Illinois recently took part in the Ryder Cup Trophy Tour during its stop at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club Sept. 7, where 10-year-old Jack Mulligan drained a 45-foot putt to win two Ryder Cup tickets. Cog Hill was also the site of the 2012 PGA Junior League Golf Championship.

First Place – Team Ohio – Mallard Creek All-Stars (3-0 record, 27.5 total points)
Second Place – East Louisville All-Stars (2-1 record, 17.5 total points)
Third Place – Carmel All-Stars (0-2-1 record, 14.5 total points)
Fourth Place – IMA All-Stars (0-2-1 record, 13 total points)
Midwest Regional – StoneRidge Golf Club (Stillwater, Minn.)
First Place – Team Illinois – Cog Hill All-Stars (3-0 record, 27.5 total points)
Second Place – Stillwater All-Stars (2-1 record, 22.5 total points)
Third Place – Lake Geneva All-Stars (1-2 record, 10.5 total points)
Fourth Place – Randall Oaks All-Stars (0-3 record, 11.5 total points)
The final two PGA Junior League Golf regional competitions are scheduled for Oct. 1-2, at Oak Tree Country Club, in Edmond, Okla. (Mississippi Valley Regional) and New Mexico State University Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M. (Southwest Regional).
