GLENVIEW, Ill. – The Illinois Junior Golf Association’s Summer Jr Elite Event #2 @ Glenview Park GC concluded Tuesday after weather in the area caused the first round to be cancelled. The Boys 12-15 Division champion was Luke Tedford (2021) of Lake Forest, Ill. The Boys 10-11 Division champion was Nathan Kwiatkowski (2024) of Burbank, Ill. The Girls 12-15 Division champion was Stephanie Su (2021) of South Barrington, Ill.
The Summer Jr Elite Event #2 was contested on the par 70 Glenview Park GC. The Boys 12-15 Division played the course from 5,801 yards, while the Girls 12-15 Division played the course from 5,655 yards. The Boys 10-11 Division played the course from 4,912 yards.
The Illinois Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing playing opportunities for its members ages 8-18, conducting educational clinics and events, and serving as a junior golf informational clearinghouse.
In the Boys 12-15 Division, Tedford carded a 2-over-par 72 total to take home his first IJGA win of the season. Tedford carded one birdie and 14 pars en route to his victory.
Coming in runner-up was Joshua LaBounty (2020) of Elmhurst, Ill., who carded a 3-over-par 73. In third was Brian Joseph (2020) of Wilmette, Ill., who finished the day with a 4-over-par 74. Rounding out the top 5, each carding a 5-over-par 75, were: Stewart Leigh (2020) of Clarendon Hills, Ill., Kevin O’Regan (2021) of Northbrook, Ill., and Dori Lee (2022) of Buffalo Grove, Ill.
In the Boys 10-11 Division, Kwiatkowski carded a 12-over-par 82 to take home is fourth straight win. He also won the Summer Jr Elite Event #1 @ Old Orchard earlier this month. Coming in runner-up was Salil Khanduja (2024) of Naperville, Ill., who finished the day at 16-over-par 86.
In the Girls 12-15 Division, Su carded a 5-over-par 75, her round included three birdies and eight pars. This was Su’s fifth win of the year. Coming in runner-up was Emma Lim (2020) of Naperville, Ill., who finished at 11-over-par 81. Rounding out the top 3, each carding a 14-over-par 84, were Maria Perakis (2021) of Glenview, Ill., and Emily Chang (2021) of Chicago.
