The IJGA staff has consulted again with the staff at Medinah Country Club and unfortunately the courses have been deemed unplayable for the day. We are all disappointed as this is always a yearly favorite for all players, parents and staff.

We apologize for any inconvenience and truly wish this day could have gone differently.

Past Update:

Due to the forecasted weather in the coming hours, it appears very unlikely that we will be able to start play at 8:30 AMand play uninterrupted for the foreseeable future. Given that this is a 36-hole event, two waves of shotgun starts, it is very unlikely that we will have enough daylight for all groups to be able to complete 36 holes. There are also further considerations for Medinah Country Club as they have the Shriners fundraiser outing for adults running concurrently with our Shriners junior outing, so we have to be sensitive to their schedule of events as well.

With that said, the AJGA and Junior Golf scoreboard will still recognize a weather-shortened event.

We will plan to begin our 18-hole weather-shortened event at 1:00 PM in a shotgun start. Pairings will remain the same. We are hopeful that the practice areas can open at 11:30 AM, but they will remain closed until then. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:00 AM.

The weather forecast and the playability of the golf course will be evaluated all morning and if there is any need for further delay to the event, you will be notified again by email.

Thank you for your patience.

Previous Update:

We are currently under an hour weather delay. The shotgun start will now be at 8:30 AM. IJGA and Medinah staff will be constantly evaluating the weather and keep all participants updated. Should there be a need for further delay or alteration of the event schedule, we will notify again by email. At this time all practice areas are closed. We appreciate your patience as we try to complete this nationally recognized event.
