LEMONT, Ill. — Players from four divisions competed in the 36-hole YDP Sizzler at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club on July 1-2. Ethan Chang (75-68–143) from Vernon Hills and Anaisha Singh (77-77–154) from Schaumburg won boys’ and girls’ 12-13 age divisions and Lucas Burkhart (75-69–144) of Glen Ellyn and Kaylie Kim (86-87–173) of Buffalo Grove won the boys’ and girls’ 10-11 age divisions.
THE TOURNAMENT:
- The YDP Sizzler at Cog Hill is a 36-hole stroke play event spanning two days. The contest is for juniors ages 10-13.
- Par for the course was 72. For the Boys aged 12-13 the course played 5,810 yards. For the girls aged 12-13 and the boys aged 10-11, the course played 5,096 yards. For the girls aged 10-11, the course played 4,254 yards.
THE BOYS 12-13 LEADERBOARD:
- Chang went three over in round one before putting up a round of four under in round two. He was the only player to finish below par after 36-holes, posting a score of one under par.
- Schaumburg resident Leo Enomoto (74-72–146) finished in second place with a 36-hole score of two over par. He had rounds of two over and even.
- JD Walters (76-73–149) of Lake Forest shot four over par in round one and one over par in round two. His 36-hole score of five over par won third place by four strokes.

ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Chang and Enomoto each made an eagle. Chang’s was on hole 13, a par four, and Enomoto’s was on hole three, a par five.
- Enomoto had the most birdies of all players, putting up nine total birdies. Chang had six and Brayden Grummer, Brian Huber, and Jack Kemper each had five.
- Walters made a par on 27 of the 36 holes.
- Enomoto made three back-to-back birdies to open the second round. Kemper had two back-to-back birdies on holes four and five in round one.
- Chang went 14 straight holes without a bogey.
THE GIRLS 12-13 LEADERBOARD:
- Singh was consistent, shooting five over par in both rounds. Her 36-hole score was ten over par.
- Nicha Chaosaowapa (87-74–161) from Chicago went 15 over in round one before lowering her score by 13 to shoot just two over in round two. Her two-round score was 17 over.
- South Barrington resident Addison Yoon (84-77–161) also went 17 over par overall. She took third place with scores of 12 over par in round one and five over par in round two.

ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Chaosaowapa, Yoon, and Singh each made four total birdies. Charlotte Majewski and Sarah Scott each made two birdies.
- Singh made a par on 20 of the 36 holes. Scott, Lauren Gauss, and Wakana Hill each had 19 pars.
- Singh went 11 straight holes bogey-free during round two from holes four through 14. Yoon went eight straight holes bogeyless and Hill and Madison Cotey went seven each.
THE BOYS 10-11 LEADERBOARD:
- Burkhart went three over par in round one and three under par in round two. He finished the tournament even with par, four strokes ahead of second place.
- Joey Perrino (73-75–148) of Glen Ellyn won second place with a 36-hole score of four over par. He posted rounds of one over and three over.
- Luca Marinescu (78-71–149) of Deerfield rounded out the top three with rounds of six over and one under. His 36-hole score came to five over par.

ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Marinescu eagled hole 11, a par five, during round two. He was the only player in his age group to make an eagle.
- Burkhart had ten total birdies. Perrino had six and Daniel Jorski and Marinescu each had four.
- Perrino made a par on 22 of the 36 holes.
- Burkhart made back-to-back birdies on holes 16 and 17 during round one.
- Marinescu went 16 holes in a row without a bogey from hole 16 in round one through hole 13 in round two.
THE GIRLS 10-11 LEADERBOARD:
- Kim’s two-round score was 29 over par. She played consistently, putting up rounds of 14 and 15 over par.
- Emma Greenberg (91-93–184) of Rockford finished at 40 over par with rounds of 19 over par and 21 over par.

ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Kim made three eagles. They were on the par four hole seven in round one, the par five hole 15 in round one, and the par five hole three in round two.
- Greenberg birdied holes six and eight during round one, both par fours. Kim birdied hole two, a par four, during round two.
- Kim made ten pars and Greenberg made nine pars.
- Kim made back-to-back birdies on holes two and three during round two.
