ALGONQUIN, Ill. – The Mid-American Junior Golf Tour heads to the Golf Club of Illinois on April 28-29, for the Golf Club of Illinois Open. The field features 104 junior golfers ages 12-18 from Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.

The Boys Division will play the par 71 Golf Club of Illinois from 6,864 yards, while the Girls Division will play from 6,106 yards. Please note that yardages for each round will be based on variable conditions such as weather conditions, course maintenance, etc. If you plan to play a practice round, please keep this in mind and hit multiple tee shots from different tee boxes. This is a Nationally Recognized event, meaning scores will be submitted to Junior Golf Scoreboard, and players have the opportunity to earn AJGA PBE Stars.

Two members of the 2017 All Midwest Team are playing this week, as well as both the Boys Division and Girls Division 2018 Sanctuary Open Champions. Also in the field are nine members of the class of 2018, six of whom have signed letters of intent to play collegiate golf in the fall.

The Golf Club of Illinois is considered a “secret” favorite of Chicagoland golfers who are looking for a unique challenge. This links style course hosted the 1990 Illinois Open Championship.

The first round of the Golf Club of Illinois Open will be a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. CST.
