WHEATON, Ill.— 23 boys and 13 girls competed in the Kevin Streelman Invitational at Old Wayne and Cantigny Golf Clubs. Robert Politza (72-71–143) of Lemont won the boys division and Katie Magner (76-72–148) of Winnetka took first place for the girls.
THE TOURNAMENT:
- The Kevin Streelman Invitational is a two day tournament hosted by PGA TOUR player Kevin Streelman that consists of top players from the state of Illinois. Day one is played at Old Wayne Golf Club and Day two is played at Cantigny Golf Club.
- Par for both courses was 72. The boys’ yardages were 6,804 for Old Wayne and 6,605 for Cantigny and the girls’ yardages were 5,381 for Old Wayne and 5,705 for Cantigny.
THE BOYS’ LEADERBOARD:
- Politza shot par in round one before shooting one under during round two to move into first place. He was the only player to finish under par with a two-round score of minus one.
- Jack Douglass (71-73–144) of Lake Bluff finished even with par through 36 holes. He won the scorecard playoff for second place with rounds of one under and one over.
- Winnetka resident Connor Gray (70-74–144) took third place with rounds of two under and two over. He also posted a 36-hole score of par.
- North Aurora’s Ben Patel (70-75–145) finished in fourth place. His round one score of two under par and round two score of three over par combined for a two-round score of one over.
- Rayden Tee (69-77–146) shot three under par in round one and five over par in round two. The Hoffman Estates resident won fifth place with a 36-hole score of two over par.

ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Gray was the only player to make an eagle during the tournament. He made a three on the par-five fourteenth hole at Cantigny during round two.
- Gray and Politza each made nine total birdies. Douglass and Joey Scott each had eight total birdies.
- Caleb Negley parred 27 of the 36 total holes. Patel and Ryan Walsh each made 26 pars.
- Scott made three straight birdies on the 13th, 14th, and 15th holes at Cantigny.
- Patel went 25 holes in a row without making a single bogey from hole three in round one through hole nine in round two.
THE GIRLS’ LEADERBOARD:
- Magner shot four over in round one before firing off a score of even in round two to move into first place. Her two-round score was four over par.
- Mayan Covarrubias (73-76–149) of North Riverside finished in second place with a 36-hole score of five over par. She shot one over in round one and four over in round two.
- Hailing from Long Grove, Campbell Ray (74-76–150) rounded out the top three with rounds of two over and four over. Her two-round score was six over par.
- Sydney Terada (74-79–153) took fourth after shooting two over in round one and seven over in round two. The Lake Barrington resident finished the tournament at nine over par.
- Sarah Arsich (74-79–153) of Mokena also finished with a two-round score of nine over par. She took fifth place, also putting up rounds of two over and seven over.

ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Magner put up eight birdies over the course of two rounds, leading the field in par breakers by three.
- Covarrubias made 25 pars through 36 holes. Ray parred 24 holes.
- Gloria Lee and Magner each made back-to-back birdies during round two. Lee made hers on holes six and seven and Magner made hers on holes two and three.
- Arsich and Magner each went 12 straight holes bogey-free.
