An Association member will receive a USGA Handicap Index ® IF they satisfy the following two requirements:
- Must be a resident of Illinois, and
- Have paid for the Discounted CDGA Membership through the IJGA/MAJGT.
All IJGA/MAJGT members who purchase a discounted CDGA Membership through the IJGA/MAJGT will have a home club designation of IJGA Member Club.
If you already receive a Handicap Index through your home club, but would like for your designation to be changed to IJGA Member Club so the IJGA/MAJGT will post your tournament scores, you must purchase an additional Handicap Index through the IJGA for $10 and your accounts will be MERGED. Please contact the IJGA or CDGA to have your accounts merged.
If you would like for your Handicap Index to reflect your actual home club, you should not purchase a discounted CDGA Membership through the IJGA as your scores will not be posted by IJGA staff in this case.
AGAIN, DO NOT POST YOUR IJGA/MAJGT TOURNAMENT SCORES*. The IJGA/MAJGT posts all IJGA/MAJGT tournament scores (Illinois residents only) to your handicap for you WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS OF EACH EVENT*, but you are responsible for posting scores from other events or casual rounds to maintain a proper handicap.
YDP Members – please note that courses must be over 1,500 yards per nine holes for scores to be posted. Some of the YDP scores (especially for 8-11year olds) will not be able to be posted for this reason.
*The IJGA/MAJGT will be posting scores from when you activated your CDGA Membership and forward. For example, if you played in an IJGA/MAJGT event on Tuesday but did not sign up for a CDGA Membership until Thursday, you would need to put in the score from Tuesday, but any IJGA/MAJGT events played from that point on would be submitted to your handicap by IJGA/MAJGT staff.
Handicap revisions take place on the 1st and 15th of every month and are sent to members via email as well as being accessible from the CDGA’s website, www.cdga.org. The CDGA’s official website features My CDGA Caddie, a personalized section which allows players to access their handicap information, and to post scores from any computer with internet access.
When you receive your CDGA Membership Number, first-time users need to REGISTER for MY CDGA CADDIE.
