These events are 18-hole individual stroke play competitions. They were designed to allow IJGA members to compete at golf courses near home, and are great events for both first-time IJGA competitors and those looking to hone their competitive records without having to travel outside of the Chicagoland area. Tee time ranges for each Playing Member Stroke Play event vary. Please check the tournament information page for tee time ranges and general event information. Player of the Year Points will be based on the final division field size. | |||

This tournament is for ages 14-18. The tournament will consist of 2 person teams playing 18 holes . There will be a Boys division and a Girls division, but no age divisions. You and your partner will play each hole, the better score between you will be recorded as your team score. | |||

DuPage County Junior Classic – The DuPage County Junior Classic is a pre-season 36-hole individual stroke play competition within age/gender divisions. This event is one of the most anticipated events of the junior golf season in the state of Illinois. As with the IJGA Major Championships, AJGA PBE Stars and Junior Golf Scoreboard recognition are available to the top finisher in each division. Serves as qualifier for the IMG Junior World Championships. | |||

Players Challenge Events | |||
Players Challenge events are designed for ages 14-18, both male and females that are looking to transition from playing in one day tournaments to nationally recognized events. All junior golfers will play 36-holes as there will not be a cut after the first round. Players will be repaired for the second round based on their first round score. | |||

Championships
Illinois State Junior Amateur (ISJA) (Boys Only) | |||
The highest level of IJGA competition, the ISJA Championship is intended to highlight the best players in the IJGA while giving players in the respective events opportunities to earn American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Performance Stars. The ISJA is open to boys ages 12-18 as of August 15 of the current year, however, players turning 19 after the event date but before August 15 of the current year ARE eligible to compete. All players MUST be residents of the state of Illinois. Players must be exempt or have qualified at one of the two (2) local qualifiers. All qualifying events are filled on a first come, first-served basis. The championship is a 54-hole Individual Stroke Play event, the top 50 and ties after 36 holes make the cut for the final 18 holes. | |||

Chick Evans Junior Amateur Championship (CEJA) | |||
The highest level of IJGA competition, the Chick Evans Junior Amateur is intended to highlight the best players in the IJGA while giving players in the respective event opportunities to gain PBE Stars to gain entry into American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) events. The CEJA is open to boys and girls age 18 and under who are exempt or who have qualified via one of two (2) qualifiers. (5 qualifying opportunities for boys; 3 qualifying opportunities for girls). All events are filled on a first come, first-served basis. BOYS – 36 hole Individual Stroke Play (Monday/Tuesday) qualifying for match play cut to low 32 boys for match play, followed by up to five (5) rounds of match play. GIRLS – 36 hole Individual Stroke Play (Monday/Tuesday) qualifying for match play, players cut to low 16 girls for match play, followed by up to four (4) rounds of match play. |

CDGA Junior Amateur | |||
The CDGA Jr. Amateur is one of the oldest junior events in the Midwest dating back to pre-WWII and the oldest junior tournament the IJGA operates each year. The CDGA Jr. event boasts a highly competitive field and as a result, the level of Player of the Year points awarded to top finishers are larger. As with the IJGA Major Championships, AJGA PBE Stars and Junior Golf Scoreboard recognition are available to the top finisher in each division. | |||

Medinah Shriners Junior Invitational |

INVITATION ONLY: The Medinah Shriners Junior Invitational is an annual event benefiting the Medinah Country Shrine and the Chicago Shriners Hospital for Children. The IJGA has donated nearly $200,000 to the Shriners Hospital for Children since this event’s inception. This one-day, invite-only event, is a 36-hole stroke play competition for boys and girls 14-18 and is recognized by both JGS and AJGA. Please note that this event is a first come, first served and will fill up quickly. Invitations are expected to be sent out in January for this event. This is not a Player of the Year point awarding event. |

INVITATION ONLY: The Roger Ulseth Player of the Year Championship is a one-day 18 hole Individual Stroke Play Event (afternoon shotgun start). This event is the highest level of IJGA competition each year and the Player of the Year Championship is intended to highlight the best players in the IJGA. The POY is an invitation only event for boys and girls ages 14-18 based on their final Player of the Year Point total. This event is dedicated to the memory of Roger T. Ulseth, the first paid IJGA Executive Director. The event is contested at Rich Harvest Links in Sugar Grove, as a continuation of The Rog, which was inaugurated in 1994. | |||
